I will take attendees from Download to Installation to Setup to their First Record. The goal is to strip REAPER down from being a multi-track music recording and production tool, to a VO/Audiobook friendly DAW. We will selectively change the Preferences, Project Settings, Track Settings, Keyboard Shortcuts, ToolBar Buttons, Screen and Color Scheme to help streamline your process and have REAPER perform the way YOU want it to work. We will create a Simple Default Track Template populated with some fundamental processing FX like Noise Reduction, EQ, Compression, and a Limiter - all of which are included with REAPER - and even incorporate some Third-Party Plugins (Waves, iZotope, etc.) into your FX Chain. We will put together simple Custom Actions that will Combine Several Separate Operations (Actions in REAPER parlance) into One Action that can be performed with a single Keyboard Shortcut and/or linked to a ToolBar Button. Attendees will be shown how to Export (Render in REAPER parlance) files in different file formats and specifications, and how to use REAPER's Batch File Conversion. And we will discuss the different ways REAPER can perform Punch & Roll to correct mistakes - very important in Audiobook Recording and Production. This session will be very informative, intense and will make your brain hurt when we are through.
